Attributes

A range of personal attributes have been found to contribute to a young person’s capacity for resilience (Masten, 2009). The attributes that appear most often in the literature relate to temperament, concentration and attention, intelligence (emotional and intellectual), mood and affect and attractiveness to others (in personality or appearance). However, talents valued by the individual and others (e.g. being good with your hands), fitness and physical health, have also been found to have significance.
